Department of Community Health, Nursing Administration and Education

Introduction

The Community Health Department Nursing is one of the departments in the School of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, Moi University. The department is designed to provide high quality training to students who upon qualifying will give competent and comprehensive community health nursing services to individuals, families, communities locally and globally across life cycle cohorts.

The College of Health Sciences programmes stands out uniquely in training of health care professionals by introducing in early parting the training, research components which runs throughout the period of training through Community-Based Education and Service. The students qualify with high level knowledge, skills and attitudes in research methods, in particular community-based research.

The department is also at advanced stage of developing Master of Science in Nursing (Community Health). The curriculum has gone through its approval process at Moi University. It is envisage that this programme will be mounted in September, 2019. The course is designed to train the much needed experts in the field of Community Health Nursing who will be engaged in teaching as well as providing leadership in the management of Community Health Services
